The large blue Morgana Fortune Teller arcade machine stood near the entrance to Walton Pier during the 70s and 80s. When you inserted a coin, Morgana came to life through some magical projections.

Mr Fun was the friendly face and guarantee of a good time for Walton and Clacton Piers in the 60s and 70s. He appeared on slot machines, badges and pier frontage and signage everywhere!

This design is inspired by an old 1950s/60s leaflet design - at the time there would have been a big wheel on the pier, and possibly early rides like the waltzer, the original victorian gallopers, and a speedway.

The little engine named 'Dreadnought' worked Walton pier from 1948-78 - running holiday makers up and down the pier. We love his happy, smiley face, so had to include him in our Pier collection.

Walton's ghost train - was host to a range of 'famous' faces on its doors during the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The majority of these designs were still about in the 1980s, but some are even earlier.

The pier's old Supercar-manufactured ghost train ride from the 60s got a Wild West makeover in 2005 and remained there until 2021 when it was rumoured to have gone to join Gavin and Stacey in Barry Island!

This elaborate hand-painted Twister design from Walton Pier hailed from 1972 - where it stayed until 2021 when it was sold to Bloomfield's Amusements - a lovely traditional fairground.

Another favourite, this is the 2nd waltzer at Walton pier; the original - based there since 1949 was sold to Casino Funfair at Canvey Island in 1973. The current Hardrock Waltzer has been there since 1974.

Opened in 1964 and managed by well-known bowler (and writer for Tenpin Monthly magazine) Keith Hale. The Pier Bowl had a family atmosphere with a bar, coffee shop and pro-shop which sold precision drilled bowling balls.

There have been two sets of gallopers in Walton Pier's history. The original Victorian one was sited on the pier from 1948 until 2005 (then sold to Yesterday's World Museum) The most recent one hailed from 2006 until 2021.
